Tigers upset Tendulkar's day: Bangladesh won by 5 wickets

Dhoni: “They played better cricket throughout. At the start of the Powerplay our bowlers felt the pressure, a bit more runs on the board would have been better. The youngsters will learn more. Bangladesh can play really well on their day, they used the conditions well, their reverse swing bowling was good. We have been waiting for a long time for Sachin to get this (hundred).”

Mushfiqur: “It’s a huge moment for us. We want to dedicate this to Manjural Islam Rana (who died five years back). Today it was a great, we really appreciate our win. Thanks to the crowd.”

Shakib is the Man of the Match, and deservedly so: “It was a great team effort, we batted really sensibly. I’m a very happy man now. The innings was crucial because I gave the rest the belief they could win. We had a plan to put Nasir up the order. If we win against Sri Lanka we can make the final but we don’t want to depend on others.”

Shakib makes an speech to the crowd in Bengali.

Sachin receives a Special Recognition Award.

That ends the best game of the tournament so far. It’s been a pleasure bringing this to you. Join us on Sunday for India v Pakistan. Cheers!

End of match: What makes this very pleasing for Bangladesh’s point of view was the collective effort. Tamim provided the base, Nasir accelerated when it mattered, Shakib was given the freedom to attack thanks to Nasir and Mushfiqur added the final blows. In the midst of this revelry, somehow Sachin’s century is pushed to the background. For me, the Man of the Match should be one of the Bangladesh batsmen.

Om: “This has become a routine to I ndia. How come India lose such a match. Poor planning.. poor captaincy. Sachin created a milestone and others broke it. :'(“

Catching my breath here. Here’ the list of Bangladesh’s highest chases. This is their second best.

What this win does is it gives the game against Pakistan a lot of context for India. They have to win the next one.
