This week’s program presented the life and story of Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. A Bangladeshi economist and known as the “The Banker of the Poor”, he founded the Grameen Bank, an institution that provides micro-credit (small loans to poor people possessing no collateral) to help its clients establish creditworthiness and financial self-sufficiency. This week’s program provided a beautiful summary of his life – achievements, criticisms, praises and honors. The song ‘chitralekha’ played in the program was sung by Indian singer Bhupen Hazarika. This week’s program was produced and presented by Badiuzzaman Khan.
