BEN Organises a Community Environment Program Essay Writing Competition in Sydney
We are pleased to inform you that Bangladesh Environment Network (BEN) is organising a 10-year celebration program of BEN in Sydney on Saturday, 1 November 2008.
BEN is a global network of Non Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) all over the world. BEN’s Australian Chapter is organising a one-day event in Sydney to celebrate the contributions that expatriate Bangladeshis in Australia have made to the protection, enhancement and conservation of the environment of Bangladesh. Most of these have been achieved through community participation.
The program on 1 November 2008 will include an inaugural session, a seminar, a community environmental event, followed by a traditional cultural function and a film show on the environment. Prizes will be given to the winners of an essay competition on the environment of Bangladesh. Further details of the essay competition and the program will be posted soon.
As you know, the people and the environment of our motherland Bangladesh are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and sea level rise. We will utilise the opportunity to work with other Australians to tackle these challenges and help create a better environment for Bangladesh.
On behalf of all Bangladeshis in Australia we cordially invite you to join the program and help Bangladesh’s environment.
