Celebration of Bengali New Year 1424 – বৈশাখী মেলা

এসো হে বৈশাখ এসো এসো!!
পহেলা বৈশাখ – the first day of Bangla New Year 1424, is on the horizon! This is an event that roots deep into our identity as Bengalis. Back home the musical soiree at dawn, the traditional festive rally of the fine arts institute, the countless melas all bring out the Bengali within us.
Dear friends, Australia Bangladesh Association in conjunction with other Bangladeshi socio-cultural groups and individuals, organizing a day-long event Boishakhi Mela (বৈশাখী মেলা) on Saturday 8th of April 2017. The details
are:
Date: 8th April (Saturday) 2017
Time: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Venue : Gloria Pyke Netball Complex – Greaves Reserve, Bennet Street, Dandenong; Melway # 89K7
The event will consist of orchestrating cultural performances including songs, dances, drama, face painting and poetry recitation and arrays of stalls boasting assortment of foods – sweets/savoury including Biriyani, Khichuri, Panta-ilish, Doi-mishti, Samosa, Piyaju, Chotpoti, Fuchka, Jhal Muri and many more plus deshi jewelleries/boutiques/apparels and various merchandise.
There will be ample fun activities for the kids too.

Entry Fee: $2 per person (5 years and above).
