It’s our immense pleasure to invite all Bangladeshi community members living in Victoria to attend an Exhibition of Contemporary Art of Bangladesh in Melbourne – a one of its kind event where the finest of contemporary paintings will be showcased at your doorsteps. The three day event presents an unique opportunity to appreciate and patronize modern Bangladeshi art.

Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts, Dhaka, Bangladesh in collaboration with Australia Bangladesh Cultural Exchange Inc. (ABCx) & ‘পরবাসী মন – Migrant Soul’ and the High Commission of Bangladesh in Australia presents:

Exhibition of Contemporary Art of Bangladesh in Melbourne

Exhibition Schedule: 22nd & 23rd March, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

24th March, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Venue: Alliance Française de Melbourne

Address: 51 Grey Street, St. Kilda, VIC 3182, Australia (Melway Ref: 58 A9)

Inaugural reception: Saturday, 22 March 2014 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon (at the event venue)

Mr. Allan James Myers AO QC, Chairman National Gallery of Australia Council will be present as Chief Guest and inaugurate the exhibition.

Artists showcased are Qayyum Chowhdury, Tahera Khanam, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Farida Zaman, Ranjit Das, Rokeya Sultana, Kanak Chanpa Chakma and Mohammad Iqbal will be present at the Inaugural reception.

Kindly note that all proceeds of the art exhibition shall be donated to a not-for-profit educational institute based in rural Bangladesh.
