Multi-cultural New Years Day in Darwin
Greetings
This is an update on preparations for this New Year Day event scheduled for:
Sat 21st April 2012 – to be held at the
CDU Performance Theatre at the Casuarina campus (Orange 3).
from 6.30pm.
Parking is free and available in Green B (see campus map attached).
The Chief Minister, Hon Mr Paul Henderson MLA has been invited to attend the function and to say a few words.
From the last request for items to showcase at this event, we have so far been promised song or dance items from six community groups – and from a professional band.
This is also a reminder to those who have not responded to oblige, so we can have all communities represented in this multi-cultural celebrations.
In the next fortnight or so, there will be an introductions/ rehersal session so that all participants are aware of each others’ role and times available. A final dress rehersal will be held on Friday 20th April at a place and time to be decided.
We will be needing volunteers to assist with promotion of the event and on the night with preparations, cleaning up etc. Please register your interest/ availability with us.
The event is also going to be free, thanks to the 2 sponsors:
“REMOX Money Exchange” soon in Casuarina Shopping Centre and
“Winnellie Family Practice and Save Mart Pharmacy” soon in the Winnellie Shopping Centre.
Also, “SITA’s Authentic Foods” will be providing Indian meals for sale on the night.
