Soccer 2008, Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra Press Release

The slogan for obesity control and or leaving a healthy life style seems working for our little Bangladesh community in Canberra. At least, this was reflected on Sunday 30 March 2008 when over 175 members of the Bangladesh community (parents and kids) gathered at the Hawker football ground to celebrate the Independent day field event ‘Surjodoy’. Record number of kids, and parents took part in several field sports and other activities. At one stage there were 20 players on each side of the junior soccer match. The events of the day were soccer match for kids under 15 years, soccer match big kids over 15 – 50 years, 2 running competition (75 m) for little girls and a traditional rope pulling for every one. Attractive prizes were also distributed to all participants. Thanks to Mr. Rashed Yamin again for donating the prizes.
