Labor Community Dialogue 18 May

Labor and Community
Labor believes in building stronger, more diverse and inclusive communities. Across NSW there are thousands of community organisations that play a vital role in building a better state for us all. Community Dialogue is a new initiative that actively invites community organisations to work with Labor in delivering new policies and initiatives for New South Wales.

What does Community Dialogue aim to achieve?
Community Dialogue aims to help community organisations deliver better outcomes for the people and issues they represent. Community Dialogue will provide an opportunity for your organisation to play an active role in building better ideas and policies for NSW in partnership with Labor.

How will Community Dialogue work?
Community Dialogue will provide opportunities for greater engagement with the policy making process of NSW Labor. Community Dialogue will host forums with Labor policy
caucuses on major issues for the community sector throughout 2010. Community Dialogue will also seek to share skills with the community sector. In 2010 Community Dialogue will host a series of free workshops with leading industry professionals on media management, government engagement, community campaigning, and social
media.

A program of events for 2010 will be announced at the launch on the 18th of May 2010.

Who can be involved in Community Dialogue?
Community Dialogue is seeking input from a diverse range of not-for-profit community-based organisations, across a range of areas including community service organisations, arts and sporting groups. Community Dialogue is not membership based.
