Hon'ble Chief Justice (Bangladesh)'s visit to Melbourne, Australia

Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bangladesh Mr. Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim attended the conference titled “Non-Adversarial Justice: Implications for the Legal System and Society” held in Melbourne, Australia from 04 – 07 May 2010 at the invitation of Professor Greg J Reinhardt, Executive Director, AIJA. H.E. the High Commissioner Lieutenant General Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Mr. Golam Sarwar, Deputy Register-2, Supreme Court of Bangladesh also accompanied the Hon’ble Chief Justice during the conference. More than three-hundred delegates including Hon’ble Chief Justices, Justices, eminent Lawyers and renowned Academics both from Australia and abroad participated in the conference and presented papers related to Non-Adversarial Justice.

At the sideline of the conference, Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bangladesh also met with the Victorian Bar. In the meeting, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Bangladesh requested the Victorian Bar for helping in Judicial Capacity Building in Bangladesh. The Hon’ble Chief Justice emphasized the importance of judicial visit exchange between Bangladesh and Australia. Later Hon’ble Chief Justice attended a reception organized by Victorian Bar. Hon’ble Chief Justice also met the Chief Justice Marilyn Warren AC, Supreme Court of Victoria where they had discussion on issues of mutual interests.
