Baishakhaki Mela in Canberra – 1430

Dear Valued Community,

This is a humble reminder to join us at the “Baishakhaki Mela – 1430” on this Saturday – 20 May 2023.

“এসো হে বৈশাখ এসো এসো”

Boishakhi Mela is an annual cultural event that showcases the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Bangladesh. This year’s event promises to be an extraordinary occasion with a variety of exciting and entertaining activities and events. The event will commence at 11:00am and will continue until 5:00pm with the New Year celebration parade – শোভাযাত্রা. Everyone is welcome to join.

There will be jumping castles for children. The festival will showcase Bengali culture with stalls offering a variety of traditional foods, clothing, jewellery and books, together with a vibrant cultural program. There will also be prizes for best ‘বৈশাখী সাজ’ for females and kids.

Additionally, we will be joined by the Honorable High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Australia H.E. Mr. M. Allama Siddiki, Representatives from the Government (Chief Minister’s Office, Office of Multicultural Affairs) to celebrate this event with us. ABC Radio will air the event on Saturday morning.
Come along with your family/friends and enjoy this event with us to celebrate Bengali New Year. Everyone is invited to come together to promote social harmony, and celebrate our culture & heritage.
