Two friends embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend, the irrepressible free – thinker Rancho [Aamir Khan], who in his unique way, touches and changes their lives. 3 Idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as it is funny, as wildly entertaining as it is insightful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

‘Ramchand Pakistani’ is derived from a true story concerning the accidental crossing of the Pakistan-Indian border during a period of extreme war-like tension between the two countries by two members of a Pakistani Hindu family belonging to the ‘untouchable’ (Dalit) caste, and the extraordinary consequences of this unintended action upon the lives of a woman, a man, and their son.

Sano Sansar is a romantic comedy that has become a new benchmark in Nepali Cinema. It tells the story of Ravi, an average young guy who doesn’t know what he wants in life, Reetu, a not so average girl that knows what she doesn’t want, Suraj a sure headed fellow who knows exactly what he wants and Manoj (aka Siza), who wants what every guy wants. Little do they know that they are living in a Sano Sansar where
everyone knows everyone even if they think they do not know them…

Yahaluwo (Best Friends) – (Sri Lanka) 7:00PM

Rajiv is a typical upper-middle class boy from Colombo of mixed parentage. His mother Manorani is a Tamil doctor and his father Asoka is a successful Sinhalese businessman. While his parents are away at work, Rajiv relies on the many domestic aides/employees who are of various ethnic origins for company and becomes involved in their entanglements and problems. When the problems between the Sinhalese chauffeur and the Tamil gardener disrupt the harmony of his family, Rajiv saves the day with his innocence and uncorrupted demand for justice and humanity.

EMAAN is the debut film of Afghan director Haris Yosufi. A mix of several genres, this film not only gained extreme popularity in Afghanistan, but also received praise from the Afghans living in Australia. The director makes perfect use of the Afghan culture, language and humour, adding a modern twist to the story. An Australian resident, Haris travelled to Afghanistan and spent six month shooting his film. Director Yosufi will participate in a Q&A session just after the screening of his film EMAAN.
