CIC Fund Raising Dinner 2010 on Saturday 26 June
Dear Deshi Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaykum. wa-Rahmatullahi wa-Barakatuhu.
You have noticed, a piece of vacant land has been transformed into the Canberra Islamic Centre -Australian National Islamic Library Complex, serving the Muslim community living in the ACT and surrounding region. Everything happened with the endless blessings of Allah (SWT), continuous works of some dedicated volunteers and open handed generous donations from the community -all praise is due to Him. The Bangladeshi community has been an integral part of this complex since its beginning.
CIC now has a large community hall, library, training rooms, commercial kitchen, computer room, large open concreted court yard and a temporary prayer room, radio program proving much needed religious, educational, training, social, cultural and sporting needs to the Canberra Muslim community. Appointment of a full time Imam in the complex has strengthened the spiritual and educational services to the community:
We have been using a small room for the daily prayer services and the community hall floor for Fridays, Eids and other prayer services. To cater for the growing Muslim community in Canberra and to provide a dedicated prayer place, CIC has decided, Insha’Allah, to build a Masjid in the complex with your continuous supports.
To start the building process, CIC is organising its Annual Fund Raising Dinner on Saturday 26 June 2010 at 6:30 pm at the centre. This is a unique opportunity to loan a portion of your income for the noble cause of Allah that HE has promised to refund with multi-fold profits on the last day of your need; as dictated in the Holy Qura’n.
The legendary NRL football star Br Hazem El Masri will be at CIC on the night to help us in the process of fund raising effort for the Masjid project. Your presence will provide you a scope to meet this renowned star, buy his books and collect his personal autograph on the night.
