Sitara’s Story’s – A creativity contest

What is Happiness?
A creativity contest

What is Sitara’s Story’s #whatishappiness campaign?

It is an initiative of SiTara’s Story’s to encourage everyone to explore their own mental wellbeing by taking part in a contest.

Let’s find the happy person within you
SiTara’s Story presents a contest that offers great prizes. Entrants are asked to write an essay or draw a picture to describe what is happiness to them. It might be about feelings or it might be acknowledging someone significant who makes the entrant happy.

What makes you happy? Ask yourself. A football match between Argentina vs Brasil, a lame joke by your friend, or a book you read when you were 15? Do you want to draw a picture of Ben and Holly?

To win the contest, all you need to do is to write up the best essay you can if you are 12 years old or more. If you are 5-12 years old, you need to draw a picture in an A4 paper and email to us. Be original and you can be in with a chance of winning.

Mums and dads are requested to encourage their children.

How to enter
All you have to do is write your story/draw a picture, then ‘like’ SiTara’s Story’s Facebook page. Once you’ve done that, send us an email with your essay/picture.
Please send your submissions to sitarasstory@yahoo.com.
Do you think you have what it takes?
Then get writing/drawing and let us know!
Prizes
• $$$ gift cards
• Best essays/drawings will be published on our facebook page, www.sitarasstory.com and other pages.
Deadline
All entries must be sent to us between October 25, 2018 – December, 2018
The winners will be announced in early 2019.

Guidelines
• All entries must be your own original work.
• Three categories based on age of the entrants.
o Category A: 5-12 years: the entrants will draw a picture in A4 size to describe what is happiness.
o Category B (12-17 years) and Category C (18+ years) will write an essay on “what is happiness?”,
• All entries must be written in English only and should not exceed 800 words.
• Entries can be submitted in the following file formats: .doc, .pdf, and .docx.
• Please provide the following in your email:
o Name, address, telephone number and age.

Our highly qualified, mental health experts will be judging entries to this competition. Thanks to their combined years of experience in the field, they know exactly what to look for in the perfect essay or picture. Make sure you submit your best work in order to get their attention!

Why you should enter

Firstly, the top entry will win fantastic prizes, and who can say no to that? Also, your work will be confirmed as being top quality by our judges, and your entry will be put on display as a great example of creative writing/drawing.
But most importantly
• It encourages you to speak up about your feelings to break down communication barriers
• To be creative and expand your education
• To recognise the important role of those closest to you in your mental wellbeing

Still think you have what it takes? We’re excited to see what the entrants come up with, and hopefully you’ll get in some creative writing or drawing practice while you’re competing for first place.

Make sure you read the guidelines closely before you begin, and good luck!
