ACT Legislative Assembly will put forward a motion on the “21st February”

Dear Mother Language /Ekushey Supporters

We, MLC Movement are proud to share a tremendous development with all of you who are working hard to keep our mother languages and cultures in practice in Australia.

Please note that we have been advised that ACT Legislative Assembly will put forward a motion that will formally recognise and declare the 21st February as International Mother Language Day; an annual observation by the ACT Government to protect and conserve all Mother Languages.

This is the outcome of the meeting we had on 28th July 2017 with the Opposition Leader Hon Alistair Coe, MLA and Mr Ignatius Rozario, former Liberal Candidate for Ginninderra.

It would be a great opportunity for all Mother Language/Ekushey Lovers to witness such a historical movement at the ACT Legislative Assembly.

The motion will be put forward on 13th Sep 2017 at 11am. MLC Movement International will appreciate your presence at the ACT Legislative Assembly on this day at 10.30am.

Regards

Dr Ajoy Kar
Team Leader,
MLC Movement International Inc, Canberra ACT
