Media Release: 21 November 2012, Canberra, Australia

“We did it” KRG Communication and Publication Director

After five years of planning and background works including tested pilots, a group of Bangladeshi-Australian expatriates have established the first ever formal gateway to facilitate knowledge remittance to Bangladesh.

Knowledge Remittance Global (KRG)www.krglobal.org is a non-political, non-government, not-for profit organisation ‘fuelled’ by the passion of Bangladeshi expatriates by ‘donating’ knowledge and experience gained overseas. This is a ‘World First’ initiative taken by any expatriate groups for their own country to streamline all ad hoc activities to enhance the development of Bangladeshi people and Bangladesh.

Prior to the official launch of KRG on 29 November 2012, KRG Communication and Publication Director said,

“Millions of Bangladeshi citizens are living in overseas countries as expatriates. Bangladesh receives millions of dollars in financial remittance from these expatriates to strengthening the economic foundation of Bangladesh.

Unfortunately there is no formal platform through which expatriates can remit their knowledge on a regular basis through a systematic and planned approach. As a consequence, Bangladesh is missing out to share knowledge of this huge pool of expatriates whose aspirations either remain miss-utilised or underutilised.

KRG will close that critical gap to streamline the aspirations and availability of expatriate’s knowledge to support Bangladesh.”

KRG is the international gateway to encourage Bangladeshi expatriate’s by providing a formal platform, direction and local logistics to ‘donate’ their knowledge for Bangladesh (but not limited toBangladeshi expatriates can take pride of this ‘community strength based’ model which can be replicated by expatriates from other developing countries.

KRG has established its partners in Bangladesh to assist with local logistics and promotions. The award winning NGO Prokriti o Jibon Foundation is KRG partner in Bangladesh and Chanel I is working as KRG media partner. KRG’s local media partner is www.priyoaustralia.com.au.

KRG will be officially launched by the Hon. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain MP, Minister for Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 29 November at 7:30pm at the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra, Australia.

KRG’s success will be dependent on the active involvement and cooperation of all expatriate Bangladeshies including the Bangladeshi Australians.

KRG is your gateway to support Bangladesh. Please register your interest to ‘Donate Knowledge’.
