Monash University and the Monash Business School are proud to host a public lecture by Professor Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank and pioneer of microcredit and social business. The lecture will be followed by Q&A with the audience.
About our Guest
Professor Yunus has established more than 50 social business companies in Bangladesh, been awarded more than 50 honorary degrees from 20 countries and 112 awards from 26 countries. He serves on the board of many national and international organisations. He is the author of two New York Times bestsellers and was named by Fortune Magazine as ‘one of 12 greatest entrepreneurs of our time’. Professor Yunus and Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for their efforts to lift people out of poverty.
