Canberra couple observed 25th anniversary
On 21st June Mr. Abed and Mrs. Tulip Chowdhury from Bangladesh community living in Canberra celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at Canberra Islamic Centre (CIC), Tuggeranong. The party was not a mere get together for dinner, there were other things that drew our attention. The colorful dresses and cheerfulness of the guests has created an environment of a full blown wedding party. Especially all womens appeared brightly dressed and in a great party mood. It seemed that we were in a wedding party at Bangladesh. A great deal of cooperation offered by the community members towards cooking, decorating, servicing and cleaning was remarkable.
Mr. and Mrs. Chowdhury tried their best to make the event successful. We noticed that guest enjoyed the dinner most cooked by Mr. And Mrs. Amin Rashid. It is well known that music is the food for heart and mind. The informal music session and response from the audience once again proved it on the night.
In a short speech Mr Abed and Tulip Chowdhury recognised their conjugal life and extended their gratitude towards the community members who help them to make the event happened. . From the audience ,among others, Mrs. Fahmida Ehsan, Mrs. Nahida Bhauian, Mr. Nazrul islam and Dr Abdur Razzak also spoke on the occations. All of them recall their sweet memories with host and wished their happy life.
Finally Chowdhury couple celebrated their 25th anniversary by cutting a cake. Before cut the cake , they had to cut a ribbon (hold by the childrens from the audience) to reach the cake. It has given a feeling of stop, negotiate and pass the marriage-gate. Such a party once again proved that foreign life did not change our heart and mind.
