Associate Professor Atifur Rahman
Dr Atifur Rahman (Zarin) has been awarded “Associate Professor“ academic title -by the GRIFFITH University School of Medicine on 2nd May 2011.
He is the clinical director of the coronary care unit at “Gold Coast Hospital” who joined GCH as a consultant interventional cardiologist in January 2006. He is also currently working as the Director of Advance training (Royal Australian College of Physicians) at the Gold Coast Hospital. He is a Regional Examiner for the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) and undertakes the role of examiner at Australian Medical Council (AMC) examination. He won cardiology staff excellence award in 2008 and was a nominee for academic and clinical excellence awards 2010 (Griffith University). He was also nominated “Gold Coast Citizen of the year in the Gold Coast City Council Australia Day Award in 2010. He is a speaker at national/international conferences. He did his cardiology advance training in the Canberra Hospital. In 2003 he received “Registrars Clinical Training Award” at the Canberra Hospital for his contribution in teaching. He passed his FRACP while working in the “Royal Brisbane hospital “in 2002.He passed MBBS from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and HSC, SSC from “Notre Dame college ” and “Ideal High School’ Dhaka respectively.
