The Australian Government will provide $6.5 million to help Bangladeshi communities affected by last year’s Cyclone Sidr.
The assistance comes in response to calls to the international community for recovery support.
More than 3,000 people died when the cyclone ripped through Bangladesh in November, while another 800 are still missing.
The Australian Government will spend $4 million to provide rice and cooking oil to affected families, another $1.5 million on medical care for women and children, and $1million for nursing mothers.
