Guys and Dolls at Canberra Theatre Centre
THE Canberra Theatre stage will light up in April with the CGS / CGGS production of the Broadway smash hit musical Guys and Dolls.
The audience will be treated to a colourful and fun filled romp through 1950s New York and Havana.
Here a bunch of gamblers have a run-in with the Salvation Army Mission.
Man-about-town Sky Masterson bets he can woo the uptight Mission lass Miss Sarah Brown.
The colourful characters and language used by writer Damon Runyon is the mortar that binds the elements together into a magical, musical comedy world.
With lasting songs including ‘Luck Be a Lady’ and ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’, Guys and Dolls is one of the most popular and performed shows in history.
The musical has taken a year of pre-production, six months of rehearsal and features an all CGS / CGGS cast, crew and orchestra of over 120.
Directed by Dr Martina Crerar, with Musically Direction by Ms Anita Collins, this fun filled show promises to be one of the great events in the Canberra centenary year.
