Torke O Golpe Shirshendu (Debates and Fables – with Shirshendu Mukhopadhaya)
The Bengali Cultural Association (BCA) of Canberra has organised an engaging evening with Shirshendu Mukhopadhaya, a renowned Bengali author and a living legend of Bengali Literature, to celebrate the ‘Golden Jubilee’ (50th year) of Shri Mukhopadhaya’s literary career.
Date: 14 March 2009 (Saturday)

Time: 7.45 pm to 9.30 pm
Entry Fee: $ 5 per adult (further donations welcome)
The format for the evening includes:
- narration of selected passages from Shri Mukhopadhaya’s writings;
- a debate involving keynote spreakers, the audience and Shri Mukhopadhaya on the relevance / irrelevance of Bengali literature in the lives of non-resident Bengalis;
- a brief talk by Shri Mukhopadhaya;
- panel and audience interactions with Shri Mukhopadhaya on his works and other issues; and
- later, opportunity for the audience to interact informally with Shri Mukhopadhaya.
