Message of High Commissioner on the Occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr
On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, my wife and I convey our heartfelt felicitation and warm greetings to all our nationals living in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Practice of self- restraint and self-purification during the holy month of Ramadan brought unity to all Muslims and overwhelmed all of us by divine spirituality and Almighty Allah’s mercy. After the month long abstinence from food and drink, Eid-ul-Fitr brings joy and happiness to all Muslims. Eid-ul-Fitr, therefore, not only signifies the end of month long fasting, it also brings all people closer to each other by establishing harmony among people.
On this holy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, it gives me great pleasure to convey to all Muslims my warmest congratulations, happiness, peaceful life and prosperity, and also urge them to pursue the right spirit of Islam through sacrifice and surrender, resignation and renunciation, selflessness and total submission to the Will of Allah. On this festival, I would also like to call upon all members of Bangladesh community living in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji to work from their respective position to preserve harmony among people.
I wish you all “Eid Mubarak.”
