Update on the appeal for blankets for Bangladesh by Dishtipat Australia
Dear All,
You may remember that we launched an appeal for donations for the purchase of blankets for Bangladesh. The aim was to purchase the blankets from local craftsmen and provide them to the poor who could not afford them. This winter was especially cold and many suffered from the cold.
Thanks to your generosity we raised 900 dollars by the 8th of January that was provided to Drishtipat, one of the component organizations in the blanket distribution drive. Pasted below is an acknowledgement of the money received in Bangladesh from us by the Jaago Foundation, who were also involved in the drive. The acknowledgment is to Asif Saleh, the Executive Director of Drishtipat.

The report on the blanket distribution has not yet been finalized. However, an update from the 15th of January is pasted below.
Dear all,
Some quick updates on our “Ektu Ushnotar Jonno” campaign:
• We got many pledges and cash donations which is in total 431,140 taka (till now).
• We’ve already distributed 1000 blankets at Bogra, Rangpur, Gaibandha and Dinajpur through our partner organizations Ayoti and The Hunger Project.
• We gave 500 blankets to One Degree Initiative to distribute in the Sundarban belt (Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira) on Saturday.
• We will buy 1000 blankets soon for the upper side of Sylhet Division (Habigan, Maulvibazar, Sunamganj, Sylhet) and upper side of Rajshahi Division (Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram).
Please let us know if any groups want to go Rajshahi division or Sylhet division on/after Tuesday/Wednesday.
