National Mosque Open Day
As you may know the National Mosque Open Day project is being held on 25 October by participating mosques all over the country. The project is supported by the Department of Social Services and aims to breakdown common misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding Islam. The initiative aims to counteract all types of prejudice as well as mutual misunderstanding between Muslims and non-Muslims alike by creating a platform for open discourse between both communities.
In Canberra, the Canberra Islamic Centre is taking part in the initiative. There will be tours of the Centre, Q&A sessions, multi-cultural food and activities for children such as giveaways, pony rides, henna application, fairy floss, a jumping castle. Please see the flyer for more details.
Your support and expression of solidarity will help bridge differences and strengthen social harmony among the wider Australian community.
Please forward the email/flyer on to others that may be interested.
Many thanks,
