Eid-ul Fitr 1439H / 2018AD in Canberra has been confirmed by the Imams Council of the ACT for Friday 15th June, 2018, completing  29 days of Ramadan this year IA.

There is little chance of seeing the moon tonite (Thursday 14th) unless you are on the ISS orbiting the earth!

The crescent of the Shawwal moon has been sighted in Jebel Hafeet, Al Ain, the International Astronomy Center announced on Thursday. The crescent was seen using the technique of astronomical imaging, and the moon wasn’t spotted with the naked eye, the astronomy centre added. So eye siting may not necessarily apply as a criteria for the hilal it seems.
