Dear all,
Hope all are doing well. I am requesting your kind attention and generous assistance. Please go through the writings and decide though it’ll take few minutes.
I along with my wife (Shammi Haque Munni, aged 27) and a 1-year daughter (Rayya Jinan) came here in Australia on 17th March, 2012. Before coming here, we confronted on the medical check up as per visa requirement. However, unfortunately, Munni’s X-ray report showed that there was a huge tumour in her left lung.
Afterward, we visited to Prof. Dr. Md. Rashidul Hassan, Department of Respiratory Medicine, National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka, Bangladesh; who suggested several tests like chest X-ray (P/A view), HRCT of chest, CT guided FNAC and MRI of chest with upper abdomen. The report showed that there was a large soft tissue mass measuring about 9cm×16cm×25cm in left lung. Moreover, the mass was causing elevation of the heart superiorly and compressing the left lobe of liver.
Here, Munni is under Prof. Dr. BC McCaughan, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) medical centre. We went for the PET scan where it was clearly seen that her left bony thorax had been deformed identically. He has recommended removing that as soon as possible as it is increasing and pressing the heart and lever. He told that it would be a big operation and Munni would lose her left lung.
There is another problem regarding the operation cost. The authority of RPAH has given a quote of about $32,500 (may be increased based upon the health recovery) which is unreachable for me alone. I explained my position that being a PhD student here in the University of Sydney it’s nearly impossible for me to support the cost but it seems useless to them. I have to pay the full amount to save my wife’s life.
Although we have the Medibank Health Insurance, it will not cover that cost before 12 month as the illness is a pre-existing one. We asked to the doctor whether it is possible to wait for the next year so that the health insurance can support the costs but he disagreed. So, we have no other option lefts.
At this stage I need your support, I need your prayer and I need your kind help. Any kind of financial assistance will be greatly appreciated.
I am praying to almighty ALLAH for his mercy and your compassion and kind donation (I dont mind to get Zakat or any kind of financial help). If you kindly would like to donate through net-bank, use my account details as given below.
