Noboborshe_By_Sufia_Kamal_471032308.jpgIn the midst of fun and joy
In celebration of new years;
I close my eyes,
See far and far away
In a land of emerald green
A mysterious woman.
She waves and waves her hand.
Who is she?
Where is that land?
Try to recall,
Oh! Yes, she is in my heart.
I left the lap of that woman
From the green land.
Didn’t I promise her?
Never to leave her.

In my dream
She appears with smile
Affectionately waves her hand.

I fell on my knees
About to cry,
Whisper her softly
“If I hurt you by mistake
Do not jinx me
Your tears like fire
Will keep burning me on and off, on and off.”*
