Dear respected community members,

The 26th March is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. It is celebrated as the Independence Day in Bangladesh. This commemorates the declaration of independence and the start of Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. On this day, we pay rich tributes to the memory of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of our independence. The day is a national holiday in Bangladesh.

Dear fellow Bangladeshis, the 39th anniversary of our independence day is on the horizon. To mark the anniversary of the grandeur of achievement, Western Region Bengali Language School in association with Melbourne based socio-cultural groups and individuals, has organized an event to celebrate Independence Day, details are:

Date: 21st March (Sunday) 2010
Time: 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Venue: Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre, 80-82 Derrimut Road, HOPPERS CROSSING VIC 3029, (Melway Ref # 206 D3)

The event will consist of cultural festivities, which include:
