Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan is one of the leading young vocalists of classical and sufi music today of India Pakistan Subcontinent.

He belongs to the Sham Chaurasi School from East Punjab. This School of music has a long tradition that dates back to the Mughal times of Emperor Akbar.The School was established by the two brothers Chand Khan and Suraj Khan. Shafqat’s father Ustad Salamat Ali Khan and uncle Ustad Nazakat Ali Khan,the internationally acclaimed classical singers, belong to the tenth generation of the Sham Chaurasi School.

Shafqat began performing at the age of seven and his first performance was at the Lahore Music Festival. He has performed throughout the world.

Shafqat is the recipient of numerous awards. Amir Khusro Award in Lahore as the best classical singer, Rajni Gandha Award from New Delhi University,

Indra Gandhi Award presented at Sapru House, New Delhi,Saraswati Award at Harballabh Sangeet Music festival in Jallandhar, Punjab and finally theAmpitheatre Memento in New Delhi presented by Delhi University & DyalSingh College.
