This week’s program presented: (1) brief discussion about the impact of global financial crisis in Bangladesh: the positive notes on its economy and economic development, how the country managed to increase the GDP and reduced poverty, increased foreign currency reserve and its potentials of becoming a member of the Next Eleven group, and (2) intimate interview with Mr. Abdul Hamid MP, current Speaker of Bangladesh’s Parliament, during his recent visit to Canberra on his views on Bangladesh’s economy, government initiatives, transit corridors for neighbouring countries and appeal to non-resident Bangladeshis to invest in Bangladesh. The beautiful patriotic song ‘shurjodoye tumi, shurjasteo tumi o amar bangladesh ‘ played in the program was sung by Bangladeshi singer Romel. This week’s program was produced and presented by Ajoy Kar.
