'Fasting' during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan

Bangla Radio Canberra’s this week’s programme presented a very informative discussion on the practice of ‘fasting’ during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan beginning this week. It interviewed Mr. Mohammad Ahsanullah, Bangladeshi expatriate living in Canberra and a popular speaker on Islamic topics, about the history, importance and practice of fasting during Ramadan. Mr. Ahsanullah also described the Do’s and Don’ts in Ramadan, teachings of the Koran, ‘Hadith’ or narration of the words and deeds of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) on Ramadan and the correct ways of praying the ‘tarawee’ prayer during the month. This week’s program was produced and presented by Borhanuddin Shafi.
