“Characteristics of the Hypocrites” by Brother Abul Ehsan (1 Hour Video)

By using evidence from the verses of the Holy Qur’aan and authentic sayings of Prophet (PBUH), Brother Abul Ehsan, in this lecture, strived with great persistence and often went to considerable lengths with real-life examples to draw attention of the people to the fact that Islaam regards ‘Nifaaq’ or ‘Hypocrisy’ to be an extremely harmful and destructive spiritual disease. Those who are afflicted by it constantly suffer from a state of mental darkness- doubtfulness and uncertainty – an inability or lack of resolve to see things clearly as to what is ‘good’ and what is ‘evil’.

The Hypocrites outwardly display faith in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers and the Last Day through their tongues and through their appearance, but their hearts are devoid of that belief. The Hypocrites exist in every age and amongst every community of Believers. This is one of the ways in which Allah tests every community of Believers.

Brother Abul Ehsan elucidates that Allah Has Exposed, through the Qur’aan, the mind-sets of the Hypocrites, their fundamental characteristics, their day to day plots and conspiracies and their ultimate goals in life so that the Believers can recognize the Hypocrites and be careful of them. Allah mentions them due to their large number and the great harm and tribulation they bring to Islam and the Muslims. The harm they cause to Islam is truly severe for they claim to be Muslims but, in reality, they are its enemies who are seeking to destroy it from within.

Brother Abul Ehsan reminds people that in this worldly life, the Hypocrites live in the company of the Believers superficially praying with them, fasting with them, reciting the Qur’aan with them and doing other rituals while at the same time deceiving the Believers about their ‘true’ loyalty and following their own lusts by rejecting the ‘Light’ of al-Islaam. But on the ‘Day of Resurrection’, the same Hypocrites will again be found in the company of the Believers trying to cross the ‘Bridge’(Siraat) over Hell along with the Believers, but this time they will find themselves being duped and deceived as Allah will deprive them of any real ‘Light’ to help them cross the ‘Bridge’.
