Does conduct of some Diplomats in Bangladesh constitute interference in internal affairs? By Barrister Harun ur Rashid

The simple reply, in my view, to the question posed in the heading of this article is ‘Yes’. The issues on which they express their views in meetings with political parties are perceived as direct interference in the domestic matters of Bangladesh and are totally in breach of diplomatic norms in terms of the 1961Vienna Convention. It has been noted with great concern that personnel of some diplomatic missions in Bangladesh are getting deeply involved in internal affairs of the country.
